Participating in Citizen Science Month is an opportunity to contribute to real scientific research and help reach our shared goal of 5 million Acts of Science during April 2027! Whether you’re interested in wildlife, space, climate, health, or the environment, there are thousands of ways to get involved. Show us how you’re celebrating Citizen Science Month! Share photos, stories, and discoveries from your citizen science adventures, and inspire others to get involved.
Tag @SciStarter and use #CitizenScienceMonth, #CitSciMonth, and #ActsOfScience so we can celebrate with you!
All social media posts using #ActsOfScience to spread the word will count towards the goal of 5 Million Acts of Science globally.

Join a LIVE Event
Experience citizen science together! Join a live event such as Acts of Science: Connected and Do NASA Science LIVE to connect with researchers, explore exciting projects, and contribute to real science alongside participants from around the world. No experience needed!

Making it Count, Prizes, and the Wall of Fame
- Hosting an event related to Citizen Science Month? Registering your event counts as an Act of Science! Explore the Plan an Event tab to explore resources for event hosts.
- Participation in SciStarter Affiliate projects is tracked automatically if you and your attendees follow all project page instructions.
- Coming soon: Hosts and participants can report Acts manually using the Report Acts tab, this includes attendance and estimated Acts of Science. You do not need an account on SciStarter to use the Report tool.
- All social media posts using #ActsofScience to spread the word will count towards the global goal.
Social Media posts may appear on the Wall of Fame, and participants who report Acts may be eligible for prizes and recognition.
