Citizen Science Month 2026 Media Toolkit
This April, people across the United States and around the world are invited to participate in real scientific research through Citizen Science Month — a nationwide effort that connects public curiosity with active research in fields ranging from planetary science and astronomy to history, wildlife conservation, and brain research.
In 2026, 2.50 Million Acts of Science is the shared national goal: measurable public contributions to scientific research made during April.
A featured new series called Acts of Science: Connected includes five live events where scientists guide participants through real research activities in real time. These featured events are part of a broader invitation: hundreds of events and thousands of citizen science projects are available during April through CitizenScienceMonth.org, with additional opportunities year-round through SciStarter.org.
